Eye Creams Perfect For A 20-Something Year Old

I don’t know if you can tell by looking at me what my heritage is, (a lot of people at first glance cannot figure me out). I am actually half Filipino and half Black.

My father actually comes from the Philippines and my mother is from Louisiana, so growing up, that always meant we had two things around the house….cooking and accents!

Because of my mixed heritage, I have really curly hair, and very light brown skin. Both of which I wouldn’t change if I could.

However, there is ONE LITTLE THING that I do wish I COULD change about myself…all those little wrinkles I am starting to get around my eyes! They are just plain annoying AF.

There is a saying in the black community that goes “Black Don’t Crack.” And although I am partially black, that rule does not apply to me because I have lighter skin. Dammit.

I mean, come on….I feel too young to have lines appear every time I squint or smile. And don’t even get me started on the bags and dark circles underneath. It just used to make me sad. My mom is in her 50’s and looks like she is in her mid 30’s. And she is barely now starting to experience the same wrinkled and translucent eye skin problems that I am facing ┬áin my late 20’s.

Luckily, over the course of this past year, I have experimented with 3 awesome eye creams. I wish I could show you a close up photo of me at this time last year. You would be able to see the lines and wrinkles around my eyes probably resulting from aging, dehydration, not getting a full 8 hours of sleep (I have weird sleep patterns still), and not using the proper skin care or eye cream.

Now while I do still have some wrinkles, they are a lot smaller and less noticeable than before. And, just to clarify, I only used one cream for 3-4 months before testing out another cream. I stuck with my routine of applying the cream around both eyes during my morning and bedtime skin routine (and basically every time I washed my face or took a shower).

(And lastly, I also want to clarify that this is NOT an affiliate or sponsored post, nor am I receiving anything for writing about these products. I just really loved the product and the results and wanted to share it with all of you)

So without further ado….

  1. It Works Lip & Eye Cream Moisturizing Cream- $29.00

Out of the two creams on this list, this has got to be my absolute favorite eye cream this past year. You can feel it tingle and working it’s “anti-aging magic” from the first minute you apply it. And get this, you can also apply it to the area around your lips (I applied it to the parentheses around my mouth). I saw results that same day, and the longer I used the cream, the more lines it erased and the more skin it plumped up. Smells great. Worth the 29 bucks. And the wait time. Trust me.

2. Organic Surge Daily Care Reviving Eye Gel- $23.08

This eye cream is simply amazing because it’s just that–simple. Like the ItWorks cream, this one will give the skin around your eyes a little tingle at first. It’s very light and not at all greasy. I love how bright it made my eyes look when i wore it (even under my makeup). Smells great and seems pretty legit. I know you’d love it as much as I do.

3. Skin & Co Roma Truffle Therapy Eye Concentrate- $66.00

This eye cream is the one I am currently using. It is super light but brings a ton of moisture to the skin under and around my eyes. I have noticed very subtle differences as a result of this product like it reducing the size of the dark and puffy bags. (Yes, those bags under my eyes are Prada if you must know )(lol).

I, like every other secretly self-obsessed millennial woman, am always on the lookout for life-changing eye creams. Please share below some of your favorites and what products you are currently using! Thanks in advance for your recommendations.
